Patroclus tries to climb the walls surrounding Troy; three times he tries and fails. As he goes to try again, Apollo speaks to him and tells him that it is not his destiny to conquer Troy.

Apollo encourages Hector to go battle Patroclus. Three times they charge at each other with no harm. The Greeks realize they cannot defend Patroclus's body for long, so they send Antilochus to tell Achilles that Patroclus has died.

36

media

Achilles tears his hair and cries over the loss of BFF Patroclus.

Thetis comes to comfort Achilles. He tells her he doesn't care if he dies, and she finally agrees to let him go to battle. She reminds him, though, that he doesn't have armor.
