What are pronouns?
Pronouns are words. They replace nouns and perform the same functions as nouns. There are several types of pronouns.
So, what functions do nouns have?

-Direct object
-Indirect object
-Predicate nominative
-Object of a preposition
Important: these are functions not types (proper, common, abstract, concrete, collective, compound).
