COntent Writing:
Clarity
It's important to have clear, concise sentences that give good information.
2
-William Strunk
"Vigorous writing is concise. A sentence should contain no unnecessary words, a paragraph no unnecessary sentences, for the same reason that a drawing should have no unnecessary lines and a machine no unnecessary parts. This requires not that the writer make all his sentences short, or that he avoid all detail and treat his subjects only in outline, but that every word tell."
3
Avoid linking verbs, like do, to, be, and is. These "small" words can trip up the reader.
omit needless words.

avoid run-on sentences.
We want effortless, streamlined copy
Imagine you're reading something on your phone. Would you want to scroll through blocks and blocks of text?
4
write in active voice.
Active voice reduces needless words and promotes good sentence flow. Active voice is when the subject (the "doer") performs the action.
The lawyer managed the car accident case.
The injured person filed the lawsuit.

5
Avoid passive voice.
Passive voice can get clunky and hide a sentence's meaning. Passive voice is when the subject (the "doer") isn't performing an action. The underlined sections are indicators of passive voice.
The car accident case was managed by the lawyer.
The lawsuit was filed by the injured person.
