Define a sentence...
A sentence is a group of words that express a complete thought.
But perhaps you need a little more work on sentences. Maybe you're not sure about the different kinds of sentences and how they're used. That's what you'll learn here. You will learn about the two main parts of the sentence: the subject and the predicate.

Strictly Speaking - What does a sentence require?
Have a subject (noun or pronoun).
Have a predicate (verb or verb phrase).
Express a complete thought.

What is a Subject
The subject of a sentence is the person or thing that DOES THE ACTION.
In most sentences (that are active voice), the subject appears early in the sentence.
The puppy jumped into the car.
My friend Matt drives a nice car

The predicate is: “the rest” of the sentence - the parts that explain what the subject is doing!
