Interrupting Phrases

​An interrupting phrase is a phrase that appears in the middle of the sentence that adds facts or details.

​

It was, sadly, the last day of camp.​

​An interrupting phrase can be deleted, and the sentence still makes sense.

​Put a comma before and after the interruptor.

Commas separate the interruptor from the rest of the sentence.​
