What is Algae?

Algae is part of a very large and diverse group of Eukaryotic organisms that are not necessarily related to one another. Algae is also neither a bacteria nor a plant.

Algae's Importance?

Algae form the primary source of food for many organisms in the food chain. From an economical perspective, algae are very useful for creating biomass or fertilizers as they grow very fast.

Difference Between Algae and Plants

Unlike traditional plants, algae do not have true roots, stems and leaves. Hence, they need to be near a moist or watery environment to survive.
