Phrasal Verbs

Phrasal verbs are usually combinations of verb and prepositions/adverbs.

The meaning is different from the meaning of the separate parts.​

Examples:

​look up, head for, set apart, dash up, set out, run away, turn up, work out, work on, catch up

You have to memorize the meaning of the verbs​.

When we are telling a story or telling what someone else has said, we can tell the readers exactly what a person said by using direct speech. ‘I have to work too hard’.
