“Tener” is also used when you “have to do something”!

The “equation” is

TENER (conjugated) + QUE + INFINITIVE (NOT conjugated)

Example:
I have to run
Yo tengo que correr

She has to read
Ella tiene que leer

We have to talk
Nosotros tenemos que hablar

FYI:
An INFINITIVE is an UNCONJUGATED verb.
Examples: correr, leer, vivir, hablar.
You do NOT change the ending or the stem of the verb!
