​＜Unit 4-1　基本文＞

This is Ms. Brown. She is an English teacher.

That is Mr. Hoshino. He is our P.E. teacher.

1. 主語がthisやthatやit, heやsheのとき、「〜である」というbe動詞には is を使います。

2. this(これ)は近くにあるものを指し、that(あれ)は離れたところにあるものを指します。

3. he(彼は)やshe(彼女は)やit(それは)やthey(彼らは、それらは)は、すでに話題になった人やものを受ける語です。

4. 主語に合わせて、３つのbe動詞(am, is, are)を使い分けられるようにしましょう。

1. 「〜はだれですか」とたずねるときは、わからない部分をwhoにかえて文の最初に置きます

2. 答えるときは、主語(heやsheなどの代名詞にかえたもの)と、動詞を使って答えます。

3. thatやとitのちがいを整理しておきましょう。

   that：離れたことろにいる(ある)人やものを指す語

   is：すでに話題に出たものなど、相手と自分の間で何のことかがわかっているものを受ける語
