Classroom Procedures
How do we do basic daily tasks in the classroom?
2
Threshold
How do we prepare to enter the class?
The expectation is that you will quietly line up along the wall by the door. I will explain to you what is expected to start class each day. We will then orderly enter the room and get ready. Once you are seated and fully ready raise a fist into the air. REMEMBER, the first table to be fully ready each day gets 5 points!
3
Materials Retrieval
How will we gather our materials?
The expectation is any retrieval will be done quietly and orderly. (No roughhousing)
You will grab your pencil as you enter the class. They will be at the door. All other materials will be in their homes. Gather only what is needed. Anything that is not used should be replaced at the end of the class. Replace your pencil as you leave at the end of class.
If you cannot find something courteously ask the teacher for help. (Raise your hand or walk to desk)
4
How to get my attention
Always be courteous and respectful of others
When you need to ask the teacher a question or need help with something the expectation is to do so quietly so we don't disturb others.
First, raise your hand. If I am helping another student I may not answer right away, be patient.
If I missed you then quietly say my name to get my attention.
The only time you should interrupt is in an emergency.
5
Dismissal
How do we leave class?
The expectation is to quietly gather your belongings at your desk then stand behind your chair. Tables will be lined up to exit as a group. I will call your table number then you may lineup along the wall by the door.
Once it is time to leave I will dismiss and you will single file exit the room.
Remember to replace your pencil on the way out.
6
Once your table is ready and I have acknowledged it you may begin adding your name to the whiteboard. After I explain the lesson for the day you may begin using the buddy system in order. Once you come back let the next people know.
There will be a whiteboard & markers near the door. This will be the list used to keep everyone in order. Boys on one side, girls on the other. You will go as a pair using the buddy system. There will also be a sheet by for you to mark when you left and came back by your name.
How will we use the hall pass?
Restroom Policy
If there is an emergency you will raise your hand with crossed fingers into the air. That will let me know you need the bathroom.
