Definition of an Interval

Interval:

Describes the distance between two notes.

An Interval is described in 2 ways:

1.) Number: The distance between the notes

2.) Quality: the tonality (the way it sounds)- major, minor, perfect, augmented, or diminished. (We will not concern ourselves with Quality yet)
