tHERE ARE + PLURAL NOUNS

There is a book.

There's a big pool in the hotel.

​THERE IS + A + SINGULAR NOUN

Remember that you use it TO SAY THAT SOMETHING EXISTS (OR DOESN'T EXIST).

For negative sentences, remember to add NOT: There isn't a book. / There aren't any flower pots.
