How does exercise burn calories?

  • Calories are what we get from eating food, the diet that we choose.

    • What we eat is called our CALORIC INTAKE.

  • Exercise helps us to burn some of the extra calories that we are eating.

  • Our body needs to be balanced for what we eat and what we burn.

    • If we are eating more calories than we burn from exercise, this is how we gain weight and become unhealthy.

    • This can then lead to CARDIORESPIRATORY DISEASE.
