Used to

It is used to refer to habits from the past or to topics that were recurring. In Spanish it has equivalent to the word: Solía

Structure:

• +) Subject + Used to + Verb (infinitive)

• -) Subject + did not/ didn't + use to + Verb

• ?) Did + subject + use to + verb...?

  EXAMPLES.

  1-. She used to work in a bank, but now she works in a bar.

  2-. He didn’t use to listen to classical music, but now he loves it.

  3-. Did you use to go to California every summer?

3.- Is he used to driving his convertible?

Be used to means 'be familiar with' or 'be accustomed to': estar familiarizado con o estar acostumbrado. The verb "To Be" is used as an auxiliary depending on the time in which it is being used: present / past

Get used to

We use it to talk about situations to which we are adapting and to emphasise a change of habits that requires an effort. English equivalent: Acostumbrarse. It can be used in any verbal tense.

Structure:

• -) Subject + (auxiliaries) + not + get used to + verb with ing
