Tense

Tense ini digunakan untuk menceritakan kejadian atau sesuatu yang sedang berlangsung. Seperti halnya dengan yang lain, kalimat present continuous tense ini bisa dibagi menjadi 3 yakni positive, negative, dan interrogative.

Subject + to be (am/is/are) + not + V-ing

Example :

1.He is not kicking the ball ( dia tidak sedang menendang bola)

2. Ani and Santi are reading the comics (Ani dan Santi sedang membaca komik)

3. I am not sitting on the blue chair (saya tidak sedang duduk di kursi biru)

​Positive (+)

Example :

1. Budi is cleaning the whiteboard (Budi sedang membersihkan papan tulis)

2. I am drinking a glass of tea (Saya sedang meminum segelas teh)

3. They are singing loudly (Mereka sedang bernyanyi keras)

To be (am/is/are) + S + V-ing?

Example :

1.Are you watching TV? (Apakah kamu sedang melihat TV?)

Yes I am (Ya, benar)

No, I am not ( tidak)

2. Are they playing football in the school yard? (Apakah mereka sedang bermain sepak bola dihalaman sekolah?)

Yes they are (Ya, benar)

No, they are not ( tidak)
