Exposition, introduces the reader to:
Characters: the individuals in the story
Setting: the time and place where the story occurs.
Main Conflict: the main problem in the story

Characters: Tony Stark/Pepper Pots/ Obadiah Stane/ Terrorists
Setting: California/ The Middle East
Main Conflict: Weapons being sold illegally to terrorists
(Yes Tony is kidnapped and all BUT it's the weapons that drives the movie, otherwise the movie would have ended when he blew up the kidnappers in the Mark I suit.)

Part 2: Rising Action

Rising Action:
The problems or complications that arise because of the conflict in the Exposition.
This is where we see Cause & Effect (Cause is the reason something happens. Effect is the result of the action.)

Iron Man, Rising Actions
Tony returns to his house and begins debating making weapons anymore. He builds and tests various Iron Man suits. He finds out that Obediah is the villain.

The small conflicts start to get fixed.
Note: Falling Actions are not ALWAYS present in a story or movie.
