What is a direct object pronoun?

• Pronouns are words that stand for or replace nouns.

• Direct object pronouns replace the direct object.

It is the direct object pronoun because it replaced the word apple.

Him is the direct object pronoun because it replaced the word coach.

Direct Object Pronouns in Spanish

Direct Object Pronouns are placed to the LEFT (to the left) of the verb in the statement.

Examples:

She eats the apple. --> Ella la come. (la manzana)

The boy plans the event. --> El lo planea. (el evento)
