• Like plants, animals need to adjust to the

environment where they can find food to
continue their growth. Animals have special
characteristics in order for them to survive.
Their characteristics help them to adjust to
their environment.

• Gills – use by the fish to enable them to

breath and live in water.

• Tentacles– commonly use by the octopus

to procure their food.

• TENTACLES

• Many animals with shells, such as marine

classes, spinny-skinned animals, such as
urchin, live in the ocean floor.

What enables them to survive on
land habitats?

1. Legs – for moving. They need it for

relocating from one place to another to
look for food or to escape from their
enemies.

• Animals need to adapt to their chosen habitat

to increase their chances of survival.

• They are endowed with structures that enable

them to live in their specific habitat.
