Superlatives are used to express the highest or lowest degree of a quality.
The best restaurant. El mejor restaurante...
The worst fast food place. El peor lugar de comida rápida...
The smartest student in class. El/ La más inteligente de la clase..
The tallest kid in school. El más alto de la escuela... Etc...

This construction is used to form superlatives:
el/la/los/las + noun + más / menos + adjective + de
Ejemplos:
El chico más alto de la clase es Juan. OR
Juan es el chico más alto de la clase.
** de is = to the English in or of

The absolute superlative:
Ejemplo:
malo --> malísimo El bistec es malísimo.
mucho --> muchísimo. Tú comes muchísimo.
Is equivalent to: extremely, super, or very.
To form the absolute superlative of MOST adjectives and adverbs:
Drop the final vowel, if there is one, and add: ísimo (ísima, ísimos, ísimas).
Spelling changes:
rico - riquísimo
largo - larguísimo
feliz - felicísimo
fácil - facilísimo
joven - jovencísimo
trabajador - trabajadorcísimo
