Help Wanted!

On Tuesday night, a group of area residents will meet at Town Hall. These volunteers will discuss novel ideas for making the most of the town's beaches and docks. The mayor has asked that anyone interested in helping out attend the meeting.

"Our town are has many special features. One such feature is our beautiful coast," said Mayor Finley. "These features should attract lots of visitors. We have some of the best spots for recreation in the entire state."

93

"People can swim, sail, and fish in our waters. But we need to make better use of all our marine services. Look at our docks. They can handle up to two hundred vessels a day. Right now, the docks are half-empty for most of the summer. The more boats we bring in, the better."

The mayor said he decided to launch this new effort because having more visitors could help many of the town's stores and restaurants.

94

"This will take time and effort," the mayor said. "And we need to examine all the possibilities. Let's tackle these problems now. That way we will get everything done before summer."

One group of residents suggested that special events, such as a sand castle-building contest, would be a good idea. The mayor agreed. He asked all other interested residents to share their ideas on Tuesday night.
