I threw my hook as far as I could then I waited for the fish eating my bait. It had been 15 minutes and I finally saw the sign that there was a fish eating my bait. I had my first climbing competition in 2010. I was very nervous at that time. It had only been a couple of years since I started training to climb,
It was not on my mind until the manager of the gym told me that they were going to make a competition to promote climbing on the gym and that I should participate. So I decided I would participate to help them promoting our beloved sport.
After a few months of hard training it was finally the day of the event and I was really nervous. I was selected to be the first one to come out. As soon as the time started to run I got up to the wall and started attempting the boulder problem without stopping even a second to breathe, the result was that I made 20 attempts in 3 minutes and didn't even got to the bonus hold.
From that point forward the next competitions, I've participated at, have been way much better. My performance has increased over the years due to training. I learnt mostly that I should climb because I love it and not to win prizes.
