Heros want to save everyone from harm. The hero struggles but overcomes challenges and serves the greater good.

Mentors pass on knowledge to a Hero, often having to die as a final act of passing on to the next generation.

Tricksters look afterthemselves, cause mischief, can help a hero or a villian.

This character rises to meet a challange and saves the day.
Struggles against evil and demonstrates courage to save the day.

Anti-Hero
Anti-heroes do not possess traditionally heroic qualities.
Often dishonest, greedy, or immoral
Struggle to overcome their bad traits
Makes them relatable to us
Example: In Star Wars, Han Solo is an arrogant smuggler who eventually overcomes his own self-interest to help

A mother who gives spiritual and emotioal nourishment.
Can also be seen as a step-mother who treats children poorly.
