A word that describes a verb, adjective, or

another adverb.

  • An adverb describes how the action is performed.

  • They tell how much, how often, when, and where something is done.

  • Adverbs often end in -ly, but not always.

  • Examples:

    • The fish jumped quickly from the water.

    • The man sat alone.

    • She left the job when she moved away.
