The range describes the difference between the highest and lowest values in the data set.

  • Range = Largest value - Smallest value

​Step 1: Finding the range of the variable:

Divide the range by the number of intervals you want.

**IMPORTANT: consider how many spaces you have in your graph. You don’t want your data too spaced or too smooshed together

​Step 2: Divide
