A blood clot occurs with a build-up of platelets normally to try and stop a bleeding situation

Clots can be good when stopping a bleeding injury but they also can occur randomly & abnormally which is when they pose health threats

What is an abnormal blood clot?

When a blood clot forms abnormally it is called a thrombus. If the blot clot becomes disloged and travels, it's then called an embolus. When blood clots begin to travel they pose serious health problems and potentially even fatalities.
