The imperfect tense

What is it?

The imperfect is another tense to talk about the past in Spanish.

When do we use it?

• To make DESCRIPTIONS in the past

  El pueblo era bonito y tranquilo. Había muchos restaurantes.

• To talk about HABITS or repeated actions in the past ('used to')

  Iba a clases de guitarra. Solía hacer ballet.

• To talk about actions that happened in NON-SPECIFIC MOMENTS in the past

  Antes mis primos jugaban al fútbol.

How do we form it?

1. Get the infinitive of the verb and remove the -ar, -er, -ir ending

2. Add the correct ending depending on the person doing the action
