​Figures of Speech
- is a way to express ideas using other thoughts and concepts.​ For example, instead of saying "Her voice sounds magnificent" you may say "Her voice sounds like starlight." The voice is described as magnificent by comparing the subject to starlight. Hence, the meaning conveyed through figures of speech is not literal.
