What are reptiles?
Reptiles have scaly skin, lungs, and a backbone.
Reptiles are cold-blooded. Snakes, turtles, and
crocodiles are reptiles.

Where do reptiles live?
Lizards live in trees, in the ocean, and on the
ground. Turtles live in fields, forests, deserts,
swamps, the ocean, ponds, lakes, and rivers.
You can tell where they live by looking at their
feet. Snakes can survive almost anywhere.
Crocodiles live in and around swamps, lakes and
rivers in warm parts of the world.

What do reptiles eat?
Some snakes can eat large prey such as eggs or
even pigs. Adult crocodiles eat large animals
such as antelope, zebras, cows or even people.

Reptiles are cold-blooded and warm themselves
in the sun. They usually need outdoor habitats to
survive so its best if they don’t live inside. Some
reptiles can also be unsafe or escape their
enclosure.
