● Every sentence communicates a mood.
● The mood is determined by how the verb is used in
the sentence.
● When you know what verb mood a sentence uses, it
can help you figure out what the sentence means and
the tone that was implied. It can also help you
express yourself more clearly in your own writing.

Indicative indicates a fact or states something that is
really happening. Most sentences in English are
written in the indicative mood.
“The dog jumps through the hoop.”
