Present Continuous

Il Present Continuous si usa per parlare di :

​Uso

• azioni in corso di svolgimento

  We're doing our homework at the moment. Stiamo facendo i compiti in questo momento.

• situazioni temporanee

  I'm working hard these days. Sto lavorando molto in questi giorni.

• cambiamenti graduali

  The climate is changing. Il clima sta cambiando.

• azioni che si vedono in una fotografia o in un quadro

  In this photo, I'm dancing with my friends. In questa foto sto ballando con i miei amici

​Il Present Continuous si forma con:

​presente del verbo be + forma in -ing del verbo principale

​Nelle prossime diapositive ripassiamo:

• il verbo be

• la formazione del verbo alla forma in -ing

​La forma in -ing si costruisce aggiungendo -ing alla forma base del verbo

walk => walking / play => playing

Ci sono alcune variazioni ortografiche. Se il verbo termina in:

​La forma in -ing

• -e muta ==> la -e cade e si aggiunge -ing

• una sola vocale + consonante, ed è:

  • un verbo di una sillaba

  • un verbo di due sillabe con l'accento su ultima sillaba

• - l preceduta da una sola vocale ==>

• ie ==>

​make => making / have => having

​la consonante finale raddoppia + -ing

stop => stopping

begin => beginning

​raddoppia la -l + -ing travel => travelling

-ie cambia in -y lie => lying

​Present Continuous: Forma Affermativa

​Soggetto + am / is / are ('m / 's / 're) + verbo alla forma in -ing

He is playing the guitar (He's playing the guitar)
