Earths sun is a star that is in the center of our solar system A star is a huge ball of very hot matter that gives you energy. Stars shine because processes in the stars produce huge amounts of energy. The temperature of the center of our sun is about 15,000,000 Celsius (27,000,000 F). Earths sun is the largest object in our solar system , but it’s is not the largest star in the universe. It is medium sized compared to billions of other stars in our galaxy . Earths sun makes up more than 99 percent of the mass in our solar system .

Without the sun , Earth would be a drastically different place. Life on earth could not exist without the sun’s energy and the planet would be very , very cold

The core is where the suns energy is generated. The radiative and convective zones carry the energy to the suns surface .
