These buttons should be familiar to you. They are the basic functions of a calculator and the digits.
Basic Buttons

What you input will appear here.

These buttons allow you to edit what has been entered.

The percent symbol will allow you to enter a "percent of" statement, such as "25% of 100"
The a over b symbol will allow you to enter a fraction
The left and right arrows will allow you to move back and forth through what is entered
The blue arrow will enter what has been input and allow another problem to be entered; the previous problem entered will still appear

Main includes (from upper left to bottom right):
squared
any other exponent
absolute value
square root
any other root
pi
sin, cos, tan (you will not need)
left parenthesis
right parenthesis
comma
There are three sets of buttons here

Provides a full keyboard for entering variables, as well as symbols such as parentheses or brackets. The exclamation point is a factorial operator, the apostrophe is to represent prime, and pi is also available

Most of these functions will not be of use to you at the 7th Grade level. The exponent, square root, any root, and pi will be available again here. "mean" will allow you to enter a series of numbers and will compute the mean.
