Before foundation you may apply a primer this prepares the skin so the make will look flawless and stay on for longer. Primer can be applied in a similar way to moisturiser.

Colour correction can be put on before foundation. This uses colours on the colour wheel. Opposites on the colour wheel neutralise each other. If a client has a red spot, green will help to help to make it less obvious. Dark purple eye circles can be mimimised with a yellow corrector.

Foundation

After colour correction you will apply foundation. Foundation is placed onto a palette.

You can then use a sponge or brush to apply.

You match the foundation on the jaw line, it should be an exact match to the clients skin colour.

Concealer

Concealer can be used to disguise and hide imperfections such as spots, dark circles and blemishes It is not a colour corrector. It should be placed onto a palette or used with a clean brush that is not dipped back into the product. Do not use the brush inside the concealer to apply to product to the skin as you will transfer any skin problems into the product and it is unhygienic!

It is recommended to have a two concealers, one slightly lighter then your foundation and one slightly darker than your foundation.

Translucent powder
