The Regions of the British Colonies

Introduction - Read All
You and your group members are enterprising young English
People who are moving to the new world to settle and make
some cash money. You’ve decided that each of the four of you
are going to move to a different region of Colonial America and
settle for one year. At the end of that year, you are going to try
and persuade each other to move to your region.
Step one is to decide who from your group is moving to each
region. Assign a name next to each region, and that person will
be responsible for traveling there and becoming an expert.
➔
New England Colonies -
➔
The Middle Colonies -
➔
The Chesapeake and North Carolina Colonies -
You will each be responsible for two pieces. One, is a letter
where you will outline the major characteristics of your region to
your group. The second is an infographic that depicts key
features of your colonial region.
★
This assignment is meant to be fun, and light hearted but it is
imperative to acknowledge that many colonies relied on
slavery at this time, which is neither fun nor lighthearted.
★
As such, while you are outlining the characteristics of your
colony, I want you to identify how that colony utilized slavery,
but do not glorify, encourage, or condone the use of slavery.
★
All of your “pretend people’ are abolitionists.
