Solid Figures

- are three dimensional figures that have length, width, and, height. They are also called spatial figures or space figures.

2 Types of Solid Figures:

Polygons- They have a flat surface

Non_Polygons- They have curved surfaces

Faces
- is a polygon on the boundary of a polyhedron

Vertex
- It is a mathematical word for corner :)

Apex
- It is the vertex which has into some sense to the "highest" figure to which it belongs to.

Base
- It is a side of a polygon or a face of a polyhedron.

 

Clue: face of a polyhedron

​Cube: is a polyhedron with 6 faces. Each face of a cube is a square. A cube has 12 edges and 8 vertices.

​Prism: is a polyhedron consisting of a pair of congruent and parallel faces called bases, and faces that are parallelograms called lateral faces

Triangular Prism

​Sphere:  is a non polyhedron whose all points on its surface have the same distance from its center.

SPHERE
