“Class!” Miss Tan claps. “Hush, class. Come sit.” Kids sit around Miss Tan on the big, thick rug. “We worked on Red Hen. We will make it a skit. We can call it Red Hen,” Miss Tan tells them.

“It will be lots of fun, but it will be lots of work as well,” Miss Tan tells them. “Let us get on with it. Meg and Cal will plan the plot. When they get it as good as it can get, it will be our Red Hen skit.”

“Ann will play Red Hen,” said Miss Tan. “Glen is Dog.”

“Flap! Flap! Cluck, cluck, cluck,” Ann clucks like Red Hen.

“Yes! Yip, yip!” yaps Glen. Glen is glad that he is Dog. “Yip, yip!”

“Nell is Cat,” Miss Tan went on. “Not I!” yips Nell.

“Do not yip it like that,” Ann tells Nell. “Can you hiss it, Nell?”

“Yes, I can hiss it, Ann,” hisses Nell.

Kids in class will do other fun jobs for Red Hen. Miss Tan will get them set up. Ron and Liz will plan the sets. Then Ron, Liz, and kids in class will make flat sets that can stack. Miss Tan will check them.

Kids in class will make passes for Red Hen. People will come to see it. Moms, dads, and kids will see Red Hen. Nell, Ann, and Glen will stun them with clucks, yips, and hisses. Red Hen will be a big hit
