​These slides will help you with your revision for mathematics. It will give you a greater idea of what to expect as well help understand which of the content you may be struggling with.

Decimals are the same as fractions. They show parts of a whole but are written using a decimal point and have place values called tenths, hundredths and thousandths.

Decimals

tells us its 'place' or its position in the number. e.g. look at the place value of the underlined digit.

8431 -> four hundreds

85.6536 -> 6 tenths

​Place value

Tells us what the number actually is. e.g. look at the value of the underlined digits.

97302 -> 300

23.2735 -> 0.003
