Rules

Rule # 1

One-Syllable Adjectives/Adverbs.

Para a maioria dos adjetivos de uma silaba, Adiciona-se "-est" ao fim da palavra. Se o adjetivo terminar em consoante, vogal, consoante, dobramos a última consoante e acrescentamos "-est." Por exemplo:

• "Tall" se torna "tallest."

• "Big" se torna "biggest."

• "Fit" se torna "Fittest."

Rule # 2

Two-Syllable Adjectives/Adverbs Ending in -Y

Se um adjetivo ou advérbio de duas sílabas termina em -y, você troca o -y por -i e adiciona "-est". Por exemplo:

• "Happy" se torna "happiest."

• "Easy" se torna "easiest."

Rule # 3

Adjectives/Adverbs with Two or More Syllables (not ending in -Y)

Para adjetivos ou advérbios com duas ou mais sílabas (que não terminam em -y), você usa "mais" ou "menos" antes da palavra. Por exemplo:

• "Beautiful" se torna "most beautiful."

• "Difficult" se torna "most difficult."
