Punctuation
Punctuation marks are an important part of spelling. Here is a list of common punctuation marks in Spanish.
los signos de exclamación [¡ ... !]
los signos de interrogación [¿ ... ?]
el punto [ . ]
la coma [ , ]
Notice that los signos de exclamación AND interrogación are in pairs. One goes at the beginning of the sentence, the other goes at the end.

Accent Marks
Accent Marks are an important part of spelling in Spanish. When spelling aloud you say the letter + "acento". For example: adiós [ a d i o-acento s ].
Accent marks can be placed on any vowel. Their purpose is to place emphasis on that vowel in the word. Example: adiós is pronounced a di OS, not a DI os.
The tilde [ ~] is placed over the n to form the letter ñ.

Spelling
When you want to ask for the spelling of something, you say "¿Cómo escribe / deletrea <<adiós>>? Escribe you may recognize from the last lesson as "write" (notice the spelling is a little different because it's not a command). "Deletrea" is the actual word for spell.
When you answer in a complete sentence, you start your sentence with "Se escribe / Se deletrea..."; this means It is spelled... You can actually use that "se" in front of several words to change the meaning to "it is ...
Example:
Escribe = writes / Se escribe = It is written
Dice = says / Se dice = It is said
Escucha = hears / Se escucha = It is heard

Let's look at some numbers!
Most people already know their numbers, but take a look at the words. Cuatro (4) begins with Cu. Seis (6) is "ei" and that makes an "ay" sound. Siete (7) and diez (10) are spelled with "ie" and that makes a different sound: ee eh
cero (0)
uno (1)
dos (2)
tres (3)
cuatro (4)
cinco (5)
seis (6)
siete (7)
ocho (8)
nueve (9)
diez (10)

Here's the next set.
This set of numbers are a little harder to spell.
Notice the first 5: the all end in -ce Now look at the next 4: they have squished 10 (diez) and 6 (seis)together, but they changed the z to ci. The same pattern appears in 17, 18, 19. And finally 20 (veinte) is spelled -ei (like seis) and makes a different sound, -ay.
once (11)
doce (12)
trece (13)
catorce (14)
quince (15)
dieciséis (16)
diecisiete (17)
dieciocho (18)

This set becomes very repetitive.
Notice, 20 was spelled veinte (ending with an e); change that to an i and add the numbers 1-9 as appropriate. Did you notice the accent marks? It added one each time the ending number was a 1-syllable word, but did nothing on the 2-syllable words. Example: veintiuno (no accent); veintidós (with accent).
veintiuno (21)
veintidós (22)
veintitrés (23)
veinticuatro (24)
veinticinco (25)
veintiséis (26)
veintisiete (27)
veintiocho (28)
veintinueve (29)
treinta (30)

Using numbers in a sentence
Usually we use numbers when we are counting or wanting to know much or how many of something you have. Example: ¿Cuánto hay? generally means how much or how many are there. "Hay" is a little word that can mean There is or there are. "Hay cinco". There are five. "Hay cinco carpetas". There are five binders.
You would use numbers to ask/tell a phone number.
¿Cuál es tu (su) número de teléfono? Mi número es 456-3320
You may remember "tu" and "su" both mean your. "Mi" means my.
