Past continuous

We used Past continuous to talk about actions were in progress at a special time in the past.

Peter was reading a book yesterday evening.
I was watching TV yesterday.

What does it show?

Past continuous shows longer actions in the past.

She started listening to music in the past, continued and then finished listening in the past.

Now for some questions.

Create Question word

(Question word) + Was/were + subject + v-ing

e.g. What were you doing yesterday?

e.g. Were you playing tennis last week?

Remember when making a question, you need to move the position of the was/were in front of the subject of the sentence.
