Declarative Sentence

A Declarative sentence tells something. It usually ends with a period (.).


Ex: John and Stephanie whisper about the surprise party for Tyra.

​Imperative Sentence

The imperative sentence gives an order. It usually ends with a period (.) or exclamation point. (!)

Ex. Go walk the dog. Get out there and walk the dog!

Interrogative Sentence

Interrogative Sentence asks a question. It usually ends with a question mark. (?)

Ex. Would you like some cookies?

​Exclamatory Sentence

Exclamatory sentence expresses strong feelings. It ends with in exclamation point. (!)

Ex. My birthday party is tomorrow!
