Value
Value has to do with how much something is worth, either in terms of cash or importance. Most goods and services have value, a term refers to a worth that can be expressed in dollars and cents.

To have value, it must also have Utility - the capacity to be useful and provide satisfaction

The Utility of a good or service may vary from one person to the next. One person may find epic satisfaction in attending a concert; another person may get very little or no satisfaction.

Example: Many of you would be willing to pay hundreds of dollars for a pair of Nike "Dunks"... How many of you would be willing to pay the same amount for a new golf club?

The paradox of value examines why goods that are not essential to life can command a much higher price than goods that are essential to life. For example, a classic example is the price of water and diamonds. Diamonds are mere accoutrements and jewelery, yet they can sell for thousands of dollars.
