The Enlightenment was an intellectual movement that advocated the use of reason in understanding the function of society.
The Enlightenment was known as the Age of Optimism and Progress.
The Ideas of the Enlightenment would spread from Europe to North America where the future leaders of the United States would be inspired to start the American Revolution.
