Sometimes people describe their pain with adjective. These adjectives also show the grade of pain. So, they use them in comparative form

There are two types of adjectives
Short adjectives and Long adjectives
Short adjectives are the ones with 1 or 2 syllables and long adjectives are the ones with more tan two syllables.
