What is a noun?

Do you know how many types of nouns there are in English? Can you mention some examples?

A noun is a word that names something, such as a person, place, thing, or idea.

What is a noun?

A common noun is a general term. For example, building, house, street, school, girl, river, cat, animal, etc.
Now look around you and find some common nouns in your classroom.

A proper noun is a specific noun. For example, The Eiffel Tower, The White House, Airport Road, Al Ittihad National Private School, Salama, The Nile River, Zayed, etc.
