hello everyone! :)

we've already learnt some of the english idioms. let's continue our studying and learn idioms that start with an "E".

• easier said than done- легче сказать, чем сделать:

  It's easier said than done, but I'll try to do it.

• eat one's words- брать слова назад:

  He had to eat his words after her report.

• even so- тем не менее:

  I work really hard, but even so I like my job.

• every now and then- время от времени:

  Every now and then I visit my granny.

• every other- через один:

  She washes her hair every other day.

• every man Jack- все без исключения:

  I'd bet every man Jack of them are spies.

• easy money- выгода, достигнутая без особых усилий:

  The rich continually have an access to the easy money.

• elephant in the room- неудобная тема, о которой не хотят говорить:

  It's a bit of an elephant in the room, so I guess it's time to discuss it.

• eye candy- что-то визуально притягательное:

  This company's website is such an eye candy!

• easy peasey- ерунда, что-то очень легковыполнимое:

  Just copy what I do. It's easy peasy.

• every nook and cranny- искать что-то везде:

  The lawyers searched every nook and cranny to find more evidence but alas, there were none.

• eat humble pie- проглотить обиду:

  If I turn out to be wrong I'll eat humble pie.

• every cloud has a silver lining- в каждой бочке дёгтя есть ложка мёда:

  I thought that day would be really bad but it turned out that every cloud has a silver lining when my friend visited me.
