When do we use simple past tense?

DEFINITION
The simple past is a verb tense that is used to talk about events or activities that happened in some point in the past and this action is already finished.
Examples:
Adriana ate a lot of pizza yesterday
Liliane traveled to Brazil two years ago

To form the simple past tense for the irregular verbs there are not specific rules to do it, you must learn them by hearth.
Examples:

Go --- Went
Irregular
To form the simple past for the regular verbs we only add “-ed” at the end of the verb.
