There are different parts that
come together to make a story.
Every story has these three
elements:

Setting

The characters are the
people that the story talks
about.

The setting is where
the story takes place.

The plot is all of the
events that take place
in a story. There is no
story without the plot.
The plot has 3 main

fix their problems and
move on in the story. The

Short Story vs Novel
All stories have plots but
some plots are more
complicated than others. In
a short story the plot is
shorter and the characters
have to solve their
problems quickly. In most
novels, the characters
have to deal with the same
conflict over and over
again. The main problem
doesn't get resolved until
the last few chapters of the
book.
