Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, was born in
Makkah in the year of the Elephant

Abraha, the king of Yemen, was an Abyssinian Christian
who built a magnificent church in the capital of Yemen,
He wanted people to stop going to the Ka’bah and go to
His church for Hajj in Yemen

The Arabs had great respect for the Ka’bah. So when Abraha
made his announcement, they were very angry and ignored his
request, Abraha became very angry and he decided to destroy
.the Ka’bah

?Why did Abraha want to destroy the Ka’bah

Abrahah prepared himself and set out with a huge and powerful army so
that none might prevent him from carrying out his mission. He took along a
great, powerful elephant that had a huge body the like of which had never
.been seen before

Allah (SWT) destroyed them and this event was the lead up to
.Muhammad’s birth and glorification for the house of Allah Al Ka’bah

The army got close to the Ka'bah then an army of Allah appeared
from the western side. A dark cloud of small birds (known in Arabic
as Ababil) over shadowed the entire army of Abraha. Each bird had
three pebbles: two in its claws and one in its beak. A rain of the
pebbles poured down from the birds, and in a few minutes, the
.whole army was destroyed

Lord dealt with the owners of the Elephant? [The Elephant army

which came from Yemen under the command of Abraha Al-Ashram

intending to destroy the Ka’bah at Makkah].

•Did He not make their plot go astray?

•And He sent against them birds, (Ababil) in flocks.

•Striking them with stones of Sijjil (baked clay).

•And He made them like (an empty field of) stalks (of which the corn

has been eaten up by cattle)” (Al Fil, 105:1-5)
