How do you write numbers up to 1,000 in word form?
You can write numbers with digits and with words. The numbers 1-20 are shown in the table.

To write numbers 21-99, write the tens part. Then, put a hyphen and write the ones part. Here are the tens.
Now try it with 68.
The tens part is 60. The ones part is 8. sixty-eight
You write 68 as sixty-eight.

To write numbers 100-999, write the hundreds part. Then write the tens part and ones part. Don't forget the hyphen.
Let's try it with 341.
The hundreds part is 300. The tens part is 40. The ones part is 1. three hundred forty-one
You write 341 as three hundred forty-one.

How do you write larger numbers in word form?
Use a place-value chart!
Remember that each group of three digits is called a period.
For the digits in the thousands period or higher, use the rules you used for numbers 100-999 and then add the name of the period.
Let's try it with 29,035.
Write the thousands period. twenty-nine thousand
Write the ones period. thirty-five
Put them together. You write 29,035 as twenty-nine thousand thirty-five.

Let's try another example with 2,562,712.
Write the millions period. two million
Write the thousands period. five hundred sixty-two thousand
Write the ones period. seven hundred twelve
Put it together. You write 2,562,712 as two million five hundred sixty-two thousand seven hundred twelve.
